Akira Igata is a Project Lecturer at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo. He is also an Adjunct Senior Fellow at Pacific Forum, a US-based think tank, and a Non-Executive Director at the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC). He advises the Japanese government, bureaucracy, and the private sector in various capacities. His research interests include economic security; human rights diplomacy; cellular agriculture; and international politics in the Indo-Pacific.
