In Japan, the adoption of digital engineering is accelerating across industry and academia, with initiatives such as JAXA&#8217;s &#8220;Small Technology Innovation Satellite Research and Development Program,&#8221; &#8220;CHAIN-X&#8221; in the aircraft development field, and the establishment of &#8220;JAMBE (Model-Based Engineering Promotion Center)&#8221; with the participation of domestic automobile manufacturers. Meanwhile, Western manufacturers and emerging space companies are already leading the way in utilizing this technology. To ensure future international competitiveness, process innovation from the design stage onward is an urgent necessity. This seminar will explore the role of digital engineering in space development, where failure is not an option, from multiple perspectives, including examples from Western manufacturers.
